the air is different (the battle of friendships that come + go)

It suddenly struck my mind as I looked out across the lake that when I think of this city, this dot on the map, one person’s face comes to mind. Except here’s the thing: they don’t even live here anymore.

And suddenly, the air feels very different, my mind’s perspective on this place changes, and I realize that the way people fit in your life changes, too.
